So hey.

2 min read
So it's been about nine months since I was last active on here, if not a bit longer. Since then I've had all GCSE exams, study leave, got a new boyfriend, done my silver DofE, broken my laptop (via the cat, and hence no digital art), been on NCS, got my results and moved school to a new sixth form, settled in, panicked about my work as I'm now doing my AS-Levels and now I'm here and it's coming up to Christmas. Long time no see. ^^;

I had over 3500 messages and notifications when I logged in just and to b honest I have just deleted the lot of them in the hopes of starting anew. I've undoubtedly missed a lot but in the next few months I hope to get back into doing some more art because apart from at school I've not been able to do much at all and that kinda sucks to be honest but I plan to fix that asap. Even if I don't do much art of my own volition I will probably post my GCSE work at some point and also maybe post some of my A-Level work as I go along, we shall see.

Now, this is kind of brief because I need to get back to tidying up from my homework but I hope to see you soon and I hope that you can forgive me for my extremely long, unannounced absence. *fingers crossed*

Before I start, I am going to tell you that this is a big biological geek out. You have been warned!

Okay, so me and my dear father have recently been trying to find the coolest animals we can which is a debate started when I learned of the existence of the Blue Dragon Sea Slug, also known as Glaucus Atlanticus. It looks awesome and, as the name suggests, like a blue dragon. Here is the Wiki page for those interested, even if just to look at the picture: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glaucus_… To summarise why it's cool though, it lives off of venemous animals and then uses their poison for itself, even things as poisonous as the portuguese man o' war (which is cool in itself) whose venom is known to cause fever, shock and cause problems with the heart and lungs in humans, and in very rare cases it can even cause death. Thing is, at largest this cute sea slug is only 3cm long. How cool is that!?

Now, I was saying about how cool the Glaucus Atlanticus looks and so my Dad brought up the awesome colours of the Royal Starfish. It's purple and orangey yellow and these are also the colours of his scout groups neckerchief. Exactly! Again, wiki, because google links are ridiculously long: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astropec… Look at those vivid colours! It's colours are its main feature but it's a starfish and that makes it instantly really cool.

Anyway, the title of this is about Tardigrades and this is the creature that my Dad brought up today just before Dinner. It is fucking indestructible! It can survive at temperatures of just about absolute zero, to about 151 °C (304 °F), it can survive the vacuum of space as well as extremely high levels of pressure, some species can survive levels of pressure six times that of the deepest part of the ocean, the Marianas Trench, this is 6000 times the pressure of our normal atmosphere! It can withstand ridiculously high levels of radiation, hundreds of times more than the lethal dose of us squishy pathetic humans, they can survive at only 3% water for ten years and also without any form of food for about this time because they can slow their metabolism to almost zero! These amazing, no, astounding levels of indestructibility, higher than that of Minecraft obsidian, are all found in a package about 0.5mm and they have been around for 530 million years. That's 300 MILLION YEARS LONGER THAN THE DINOSAURS!! Here is the wiki if you want to know further about the science of them because they are fucking awesome: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tardigra… I believe this creature is amazing and definitely an epic win in favour of the world. So what if it looks like a pudgy little blob with legs? This is what will be ruling the world when the apocalypse comes. Haha. Well done world! Good game and well played. I have faith in you!

Thank you for reading my excitement over something so tiny. Haha.

Love you all,
Emily.

I'm not sorry.

random-drawer-person.deviantar… Here is the gallery folder that I'm putting them all in and y'know, actual complete traditional work is something you've rarely, if ever seen from me. I hope you like it. ^w^

Disney!!!

<3

I'm half way through doing Jasmine and I have an initial sketch for a replacement Merida. :)

I don't plan on doing just Disney and I have a giant list of Disney females in a folder somewhere. Haha. This is going to take a looonng time.

Super deep title.
Woot.
Bet you're disappointed now.

Hello friends and acquaintances and strangers and people I used to know.

Long time no see? ^^;

Basically school happened.... I've been busy doing GCSE Art and GCSE Graphics and GCSE English and all the rest of it too. And when I haven't been at school or doing school work or school activities I've been doing Scouts/Explorers. I'm an Explorer on Mondays and some weekends, a young leader at Beavers on Tuesdays and some weekends and on average probably three days a week currently I'm a scout of some form or another. My week is currently school, explorers, school, beavers, homework, school, hockey, homework, school, homework, school, socialising (Friday is my social day), sleep, sleep, sleep, scouting of some sort, homework, sleep, and repeat.

My life is currently that on repeat again and again and drawing when I get the time but I get very little dA time regardless and for this I apologise profusely. I've actually been drawing rather a bit (mostly in lessons to be honest but oh well). I'll most likely upload the majority in one big sketch dump and upload a few individual ones separately. e.g. I've starting drawing out Disney females and colouring them in copics - partly for practice, partly for fandomness - and I've also done a couple other little things which I'll upload separately when I have time because I imagine it might take a while.

As the weather's warming up and becoming more sunny I hope I'll get my head in the game a little more and be able to use my time more evenly. However, it's camping season soon (especially for the younger beavers who don't do much the rest of the year) and that means more scouting and with school becoming more serious as we're only a couple months away from the end of our first GCSE year the work is becoming more panicked and so there's no promises but I will make the effort to be more active than I have been over the last few weeks.

Thanks for reading.

Emily. :meow:
